The Phoenix is the official publication of the Greater Atlanta Rose Society

The Phoenix is a bimonthly digital publication written and produced by members of the Greater Atlanta Rose Society. As part of your GARS membership you’ll get great gardening advice from master and consulting rosarians all year long that’s specific to north Georgia.

This magazine is truly a labor of love as our members share in depth their gardening experience, stunning photography, and sense of humor because we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

What’s in each issue?

We strive to feature beautiful photography that we take ourselves. Our member-written articles guide you throughout the year on optimizing and caring for your roses. And because we’re affiliated with The Carter Center Presidential Rose Garden, we feature our volunteer activities in each issue. 

Our consulting and master rosarians enjoy writing on a variety subjects. Here are a few that were featured in recent issues:

  • Tasks each month you can complete to maintain and optimize your rose garden

  • Events calendar listing our monthly meetings, regional rose shows, and rose events

  • Updates about our volunteer activities at the Carter Center as we continually work in the rose garden

  • Information on avoiding rose diseases
