About the rose society
About us
While we are Atlanta’s oldest plant society, we are focused on the future.
Founded in 1957, the Greater Atlanta Rose Society is the oldest plant society in the greater metropolitan Atlanta area. It is affiliated with the American Rose Society, which is headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Our members are both veteran and novice rosarians whose interests span a wide range of cultural practices. From collecting cuttings and rooting old garden varieties to exhibiting in rose shows, our members are eager to share their knowledge and experience.
Our mission is to encourage, enjoy, and share the cultivation of our national flower, the rose, in all its different varieties for generations to come.
